Backyard Progress

This is what 6,000 litres of water looks like.

As you can see in the photo above, there are two of these tanks. They have been connected to all the down pipes from our three roof sections, so hopefully we’ll be able to harvest some decent water for the garden. Coz we aren’t allowed to use domestic water for our gardens, thanks to the drought.
This is what a nearly finished deck looks like! It’s so very exciting.
There’s a raised garden bed in the back, and there’ll be tall bamboo screens along the fence for extra privacy (right now I can see into the neighbour’s kitchen because the deck is raised up).
It still has to be finished and stained, but such progress! We go out there every night when we get home from work and admire the deck, it’s going to be great once it’s done.

Huffle is a bit unsure of all the goings-on in the yard. She goes out there with me but then runs straight back in the house if I head in. She’ll get used to it eventually.

Sorry for the slight laundry display, it’s the first sunny day we’ve had in ages and I wasn’t taking down the laundry just to get a photo.

LOVE the deck! That's going to be great! It all will be! Provided the parsley pot makes a come back. 🙂

Oh how I wish I could hang laundry, nothing like the feel and smell of freshly dried sheets – banned in our development!!!

Are you getting poor Huff a new parsley pot?

It is looking wonderful so far.

No grass or weeds. Now that's a bonus.
