Random Stuff

While we were in New York City last year, I made a pilgrimage to my spiritual home, the Saks Fifth Avenue Shoe Salon. I came home with these shoes:

PurpleManolos

And the people were happy.

Why yes, I did go shopping this weekend

And I did buy shoes.

Orange Sandals
Joanne Mercer “Daybreak” wedges

And I am very much looking forward to wearing them… as soon as the weather improves again.

Shoe Challenge 25

This week I managed to save one more dress. Unfortunately it was a new dress so the ratio of dresses to saved dresses has not changed.

Saved 120904
Leona Edmiston dress (new favourite); Wittner peep toes (already saved)
Worn to: work

As you can see from the peep toes, we actually had a really nice day here on Tuesday and I managed to leave the house without tights! It was very exciting.

I also bought these shoes, to wear with the navy dress I got a few weeks ago. I’ll be wearing the shoes and dress to my cousin’s wedding in November.

SilverPeeptoes
Betts “Lola2” silver peep toes.

Shoe Challenge 6

Another four pairs of shoes saved this week… but I bought three new dresses, which means the two dresses I wore were not enough to achieve net gain.

Saved 120417
Diana Ferrari red flats, worn with blue jeans and red t-shirt
Worn to: chemo session with my friend

Saved 120418
Black and grey Capture dress, polka dot Sandler shoes
Worn to: work

Saved 120419
Leona Edmiston “Nicola” dress, Wittner pompom wedges (already saved)
Worn to: work

Saved 120421a
Joanne Mercer taupe flower flats, blue jeans, taupe t-shirt
Worn to: a friend’s house for drinks on Saturday afternoon

Saved 120421b
Basque silk print top, Suzanne Gray jeans, raspberry Leona Edmiston bow front wedges
Worn to: my dad’s birthday party

Not sick. Not sick at all.

Last weekend, I posted on Facebook that I had been shopping and hadn’t bought any shoes.  My friends were ASTOUNDED, to say the least.  Some even asked if I wasn’t feeling well.

That will show them.

You know sometimes you see a pair of shoes or a piece of clothing, or a book, or an iPad, and you just HAVE to have it immediately? That is how I felt about these shoes when I saw them. I walked away and looked at lots of other pairs of shoes, but I came back to these.

Behold the magnificence!

Yes, I’m talking about a new pair of shoes!  What else?

These are Miu Miu, they are purple suede and I might just wear them to bed for the next week because I love them so much.

And for Barb, or was it Deb, who suggested I might actually be a bag lady with nice shoes, here are four of my favourite dresses. I have 54 dresses in total. Not including the one I ordered last week and am still waiting for.

I’m not even going to bother showing you any of the 23 skirts I own, or the 10 pairs of trousers, or the six pairs of jeans. Just trust me

Bribery and corruption in the house of Tracey

Recently, the boy and I were meant to do something together, regarding the house renovations.  He rang me at work on that particular day and said he couldn’t make it, and that since he was cancelling I was allowed to go and buy some shoes.  I am never one to turn down a shoe shopping expedition, so today I went to the shops, and came home with these.

The first pair are by Leona Edmiston.  I already love them.

The second pair are Yves Saint Laurent “Tribtoo” heels. I love these too.

The best part is, I had a budget and I haven’t spent it all which means I get to buy more shoes!

No, I’m not addicted. Why would you say that?

I love Net-a-Porter

It’s true, I do.  They are the best online shopping portal ever.  And I’m not just saying that because they sent me these gorgeous Miu Miu sandals today.

Seriously.

When in doubt, go shopping

As promised, here are the other new shoes I bought a couple of weeks ago:

Tan Wedges

And here is my new handbag:

Oroton Handbag

And just purchased today, my brand new camera! I have been thinking about getting a new camera for ages now, I feel like I’ve outgrown my Nikon D60. So I now have a super duper Nikon D300S. It’s completely different to the old camera so I’m going to have to spend a bit of time learning it properly.

New shoes

I bought these a few weeks ago and totally forgot to tell anyone.

Brown Peeptoe

Pretty, no?

Also: I bought another pair of shoes two weeks ago that I haven’t even photographed yet. And a new bag. Stand by for photos this weekend.

What I did on the weekend, by Tracey

When your dear other half says to you, let’s go shopping, don’t ever say no. Especially if he is one of that common breed of man, a non-shopper.

So Saturday, we shopped. At Bunnings (that’s a big hardware store). Not exactly my idea of fun, but oh well. What did we come home with? An outdoor vacuum, and a new clothes airer. I know, I could hardly contain my enthusiasm either.

Sunday was much better. It is well documented here that the boy provides me with a cup of coffee on bed on the weekends. Lately he has been bringing me my iPhone as well, so I can catch up on emails before I get out of bed (how very decadent). This weekend I decided I would use my laptop to read emails, it’s just easier. Only tragedy struck. My faithful Sony Vaio, which I’ve had for quite some years now, is misbehaving. The battery is runing out after half an hour, sometimes it connects to the wireless internet but mostly not, the operating system is slow… you can see where this is going.

Sunday afternoon I had me an adventure to the Apple store. I love to go there. I love it even more when I am allowed to actually shop there. I returned home with a MacBook Air, and Apple TV. It took me approximately 68 seconds to set up the Air. The boy spent a bit more time setting up Apple TV, but he did completely restructure the media equipment while he was at it. I seriously want to marry Steve Jobs, even if he is sick and dying.

I did have to promise not to buy any shoes for a while. I think I can live with it.

I just don’t know

So I’ve still been sick this week. I left work yesterday at 3pm and went home and slept for two and a half hours. I then had a bad night’s sleep even though I was still really tired, mostly because of the boy’s snoring. It sounded like there was a freight train in our bedroom. As a result I do not feel much better today. And my nose is still clogged up.

Why is that people with children feel the need to show me photos of OTHER people’s children? I don’t know who they are and I don’t care. Please stop it.

I am having an adventure to the Apple Store at Chadstone this evening. My shiny new iPhone is not behaving perfectly – the wifi connection does not work properly. Of course, since I made the appointment at the Genius Bar, the wifi has started to work. Typical. But I will still go and say it does not work, because the minute I cancel the appointment the wifi will not work again. I just know it. Also: I will buy a cover for the phone. AND maybe some shoes (not at the Apple Store, obviously).

I still love my iPhone, even if it is being a bit shonky right now.

My new shoes

As promised, here are the new shoes I bought on Friday. Yes, they are stunning, Yes, they were hideously expensive. Yes, the boy knows about them now. No, I am not getting divorced.
And here is the new teacup I bought to have at work. It’s very pretty, no?

Oh…er…

On Monday morning, when I get to work (because the photos I took are on my work computer), I will show you the most adorable, drop-dead gorgeous shoes I bought yesterday. Only don’t tell the boy, because, well, they were a bit more expensive than I’d anticipated. Okay a lot more. But that’s our secret!

A friend of mine had a Body Shop party at home today. I went and managed to start the Christmas shopping for my sister, and for the boy’s two sisters. I might have bought something for me too but that’s not important right now.

We’re going to dinner at Box tonight. It’s one of our favourite restaurants and we haven’t been there for a while so that should be nice.

Here’s a polar bear picture for you. Yes, I took this on our holiday.
